LET THE PONIES OUT
Dyno-Day at Tri Star Automotive
June 16, 2007

What a fantastic day as we enjoyed the hospitality, knowledge and technical expertise of Robert Van Der Zalm, his wife and chef for the day, Tamera and the computer tuning wizardry of Rob Segura of Tri Star Automotive in Tyrone.  We want to extend our sincerest appreciation and gratitude for a wonderful event.  Also thanks go out to Victor for coming up with the idea and making it happen.

With 12 cars and Tri Star's state-of-the-art facility we were able to dyno all who were interested, where the horsepower ranged from the wild + 400 to the stock + 295 range and all numbers in between.
Of course Robert had to show off one of his finely tuned and built GTO's
with an LS2 putting out over 460 rwhp..
simply awesome

Robert, Rob and some of the cars that were put to the test at Tri Star Automotive

One by one they were lined up and ready to "show their stuff"

First in, Chuck's new Z06.  Needless to say it was a hard act to follow!

Robert gives Chuck a few simple rules on how best to run the dyno

Strap her down good!   Their's a lot of them horses just waiting to get out!

Steve's C5 was next on the block...  From a new Z06 to a stock C5...  hummmmmm

And Robert once again goes over the instructions....  He did this how many times??????

Wayne's C5 sitting in the bay...    Notice all the "ADVISORS"????  Wayne's not even in his car!

Now we're getting ready for the pull....  Each vehicle made two runs on the dyno

OK everybody's a critic....    I'm sorry, did anyone see Bill run his car?

No Mark..   that's just not how it works!

Robert and Vic (behind the pole) have Wayne hooked up and ready to go

Wow..  speeding along with the top down and my hair isn't even a mess.....  Laura where are you?

One of the supervisors (Vic) provides a little encouragement to Ken...  Vic, he's in a Z06!

How many club members does it take to make a corvette go really fast?

Tamera was out grilling all morning....  the results: hamburgers, hot dogs and all the fixins!

Next up...  Mr. Fody and his ever so clean C5

A quick shot for the camera, and we're ready to roll

The view most people see of Jim's Corvette

Ahhhhh  some serious conversations going on as Robert explains why the car needs GAS

The Black Knight rolls in

Don gets ready for his turn on the dyno

Push the pedal NOW?

And away he goes

The crowd watches with anticipation...   Rob looking into the car over Don's shoulder

How strong is that new engine?   Richard is about to find out.......

Another hook-up and we're almost ready to go

Richard gets it going while Robert monitors the progress
