What better way to start off the holiday season then with
28 of your closest friends driving 14 of the most beautiful corvettes
through the North Georgia Mountains headed to the
Biltmore House in Ashville N.C.
and returning home via an ice packed
Blue Ridge Parkway
November 11th & 12th, 2006

Santa doesn't have it this good !!!

The start of our 2 day trip at where else???
What's that sign mean anyway?

This Mc Donalds never had so many good looking automobiles.

2 hrs. into a trip and a quick stop at Tallulah Gorge
just south of Clayton GA  (notice the tops down  for now!)

We're hanging out at the Tallulah lookover.
Quite an impressive site, and the gorge wasn't bad either.

The women stop to rest and wait

And take time for a quick photo

Further north a stop in Highlands N.C. with a great meal at the
Fireside Cafe.

If you left here hungry, it was your own fault.

Great friends and conversation with a full tummy!

I bet ole George V. wish he had a stable of
cars that looked this good.

And here we are, after checking into the hotel,
arriving at Biltmore Estates (yes a slight drizzle greated us)

Too much house to get into one shot.

A drive around Biltmore grounds with a
stop at the gardens.

SECURITY with an attitude

More winding roads through the estate.

Did someone say WINE produced on the estates?

Another shot of the entrance on a clearer day

Then did that same person remember we're in N.C. on
Sunday!

Heading home a last minute detour and we end up on the
Blue Ridge Parkway

Remember the picture with the tops down
What a differance 36 hours makes, and about 6,000 ft up!

The pictures say it all,
BREATHTAKING

That's ice and it's about 28 degrees outside

And yes, we're over 6,000 feet up

The cares moving on through an incrediable ice forrest

The winding roads

The long dark tunnels through the mountain sides

And headed back down to the highway and on our way home.

There were a lot of people on this trip, many who have logged thousands of miles on previous road trips.  This one however stands out as an absolutely fabulous drive with wonderful friends and beautiful sights.

Thanks to all who participated and kick off the
2007 Holiday Season
